Wenzel Extend Shop-Floor CMM Measuring Range

Wenzel has launched a new, large measuring volume, shop-floor coordinate measuring machine (CMM) with a measuring volume of 1200 mm x 1500 mm x 1000 mm. The new SF1210 model is stated to be Wenzel’s answer to the trend of bringing metrology closer to production when measuring larger parts. The new large volume CMM offers a small footprint optimizing production space required.

While the trend for shop-floor CMMs has been increasing over past years the measuring volume offered has limited the application to small and medium size parts. The SF1210 is an ideal shop-floor measuring solutions for the metal cutting and forming industries offering an extended temperature range and suitable for the measurement of castings, chassis parts, subframes, engines, etc. The maximum workpiece weight is 1000 Kg.

Uniquely the mechanical bearing, linear guideway, machine offers double drives in the Y-axis providing high acceleration and speeds and ensuring maximum productivity. Axes are protected by bellows to prevent ingress of contaminents.

The option of an active vibration damping system is avaialble for the harshest of production applications. The CMM is accessible from all four sides and therefore ideally suited for the application of production automation.

The SF1210 is compatible with the complete sensor range available from Wenzel including the Renishaw 5 axis REVO and optical probes.
