Taylor Hobson has announced the launch of its LUPHOScan 850 HD ultra-precision non-contact 3D surface form measurement system designed to perform measurements of rotationally symmetric surfaces such as aspheric lenses, spheres, flats and slight freeform optics. Key benefits of the profiler include fast measurement speeds and high flexibility with regard to uncommon surface shapes including flat apexes or profiles with points of inflection.
Pushing Boundaries of Large Optics Metrology
Built on the foundations of the world renowned Taylor Hobson LUPHOScan HD platform, the LUPHOScan 850 HD delivers stable non-contact metrology for large complex optics applications. The instrument has been developed working and listening closely to the company’s many partners in optics manufacturing. Our metrologists understand the importance designing a system that delivers highly accurate, repeatable and reliable measurement data.
Optimised Technology for Accuracy and Reproducibility
The LUPHOScan 850 HD incorporates a Granite metrology frame ensuring accurate compensation for thermal expansion with optimised design to minimise vibration. Real time compensation of ambient conditions incorporated (4 Temperature and 1 air pressure sensors) together with a low system noise to deliver high accuracy performance. Active anti-vibration delivers optimised isolation of the measurement loop while an automatic centre and level system provides consistently accurate results through complete measurement automation.
System specification:
– 5 mm to 850 mm diameter x 210 mm height
– Workpiece load up to 350 kg
– Accurate and repeatable form error measurements to < λ/20 (PV99) and <5 nm RMS*
– Data density up to 6 million data points for accurate analysis of mid-spatials at large diameters
– Freeform measurement of up to ±8 degs for tangential slopes (radial slopes 90 degs)
